Why do assessments cost so much?Unfortunately, assessments can be costly. Developing psychometric tests is an expensive process, and those costs are typically passed on to the buyers (psychologists). The training required to properly administer these tests and interpret the results is extensive, so you're also paying for the expertise of the psychologist conducting the assessment. Additionally, assessments take considerable time to complete, including interviews, assessment sessions, and report writing, which can range from 8 to 20 hours depending on the complexity. In some cases, if unexpected results arise, we may need to consult additional specialists, which can incur extra costs.
-
Can I use my NDIS funding for assessment?Yes, NDIS funding can be used for psychology assessments (on an hourly basis), if the goal is to understand their behaviour, functioning, and inform therapeutic/intervention supports aligned to their NDIS goals. However, you cannot use NDIS funding for diagnostic assessments that are purely seeking a diagnosis.
